[K]NORE YOUR RIVER

a season of river celebrations & encounters
[K]nore Your River is a community-powered season of events, art, science, and storytelling along the River Nore - an invitation to the people of Kilkenny to explore how the river shapes our identity, and how we care for it together. It is intended as a provocation to explore how we as a community “Know” our River - its past, present & future.

WHY?
We imagine bringing the river to life in the lives of everyone who crosses it. We hope for this to be a departure from learning through the lens of a climate crisis and instead through shared experiences and creative action. It’s about connection — to place, to each other, and to what’s possible.
Grounded in a solutions-focused, appreciative approach, this initiative invites all of Kilkenny to explore how the river shapes our identity, and how we can care for it — together.
WHERE?
At various nooks and patches along the River Nore, from its rural roots to its flow through the heart of Kilkenny city — with events hosted in riverside spaces, fields, walkways, under bridges, and unexpected public places.
