SEA School Pop-Up Lab & Studio at Thomastown Weir PoolDive into a day of river-side discovery with SEA School! Our hands-on Pop-Up Lab & Studio will transform the Thomastown Weir Pool swimming area into a hub of exploration and creativity for all ages.
Join us as we:
Explore life in and around the river – discover the amazing plants and animals that call the river home.
Collect and examine samples – peer through microscopes to see the hidden world of fascinating “creepy crawlies.”
Create nature-inspired art – make beautiful sun prints and illustrations of your discoveries.
Enjoy a family-friendly scavenger hunt – spot, search, and tick off nature’s treasures.
It’s a mix of science, art, and outdoor fun – perfect for curious minds and nature lovers alike. Come along and see the river in a whole new way!
This event is being conducted as part of the AKA fringe festival and the [K]NORE your river project, supported by Community Foundation Ireland.
And in continuous collaboration with the Heritage Council, the National Biodiversity Data Centre & the Thomastown Community River Trust.
