ALT EFF?

What is

All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) is an annual global gathering to educate, inspire, and connect over the most critical issues of our time.

Held at diverse venues across India and the rest of the world, its mission is to increase climate awareness at scale through the emotive power of cinema.

THE GAZE

Reframing

In 2025, ALT EFF focuses on redefining how we see the planet, ourselves, and each other in the age of pervasive digital presence. With the rise of social media, we have become accustomed to gazing at others and being gazed upon. But what happens when we shift that gaze toward the Earth, toward the ecosystems and communities fighting for survival, and toward the powerful stories of regeneration and hope?

This year ALT EFF amplifies untold narratives of environmental activism, the global climate crisis, and groundbreaking efforts to heal the Earth—inviting us all to see and be seen through the lens of change, empowerment, and collective action.

An evening with ALT EFF is a transformative experience – an event that promises to inspire and empower. With a revolutionary approach to storytelling, we’ve dedicated years to intensive research, critique and multi-form engagement that reshapes and reimagines our understanding of the climate crisis through cinema.

Each film and conversation featured in the festival is carefully selected and thoughtfully crafted to amplify the voices of local communities, validating their experiences and emboldening them in their proactive action.

Imagine an evening filled with revelation, joy and meaningful connection. That’s the ALT EFF experience: a festival that leaves you feeling informed, empowered and entertained by world-class cinema that compels you to make a difference.
