About
Join us to explore how native meadow habitats support Irish biodiversity and provide essential spaces for pollinators and people alike. You can expect fun, hands-on learning plus great chats with others interested biodiversity & sustainability!
Did you know that Tramore is home to a rare population of Ireland's Large Carder Bumblebee; a species at risk of extinction? We'll explore how your garden can play a huge role in saving this species with a small patch of meadow.
You'll learn all about meadow creation and maintenance, wildflowers, and pollinators:
the “hard” and easier ways to create a meadow at home
the difference between long and short meadows
how to manage your meadow effectively
wildflower identification how best to plant wildflowers in your meadow
common bumblebee species and learn more about the Large Carder Bumble Bee
We'll also learn how to do FIT Counts (Flower-Insect Timed Count), which you can do in your garden throughout the year to help contribute to the All Ireland Pollinator Plan.
