About

This is not just a talk — it’s a shared conversation about something most of us are already feeling but rarely get the space to unpack properly. We all see the effects of phones in young people’s lives — and in our own — yet moving beyond concern into understanding and constructive action can be difficult.

Join psychotherapist Dr Colman Noctor (Asking for a Parent podcast), alongside local nature and outdoor educators, for an engaging evening exploring how phones and screen-based-interactions are shaping young people’s mental health, attention, imagination, relationships and sense of place. Together we’ll look at some of the less obvious patterns emerging in a phone-saturated world, while also considering how these tools might be used more consciously — to support connection rather than distance.

The evening will blend expert insight, guided discussion, practical strategies and space for honest exchange with other parents.

Expect a supportive, non-judgemental atmosphere, fresh perspectives beyond the usual headlines, and realistic ideas you can take home.

Come curious. Leave informed — and hopefully a little more confident navigating this evolving digital landscape with your child.
